Telling Tales
I am a reminiscence author, specialising in books of memories.
I interview groups of people, usually in the same residential community, inviting them to talk about any aspect of their past life that they want. Then I transcribe the interviews which, after approval, are published in an anthology, usually a private edition. Typical customers are housing associations or retirement home groups.
These books are published under the name of Telling Tales, and to date I have published 15 with a total in excess of 500 stories. A typical book will take several months to complete and cost around £1,000.
They are unique books. To the best of my knowledge, no one else is producing anything quite like them in the UK.

I have also helped a number of people to tell their life stories, in various forms, by either interviewing them and transcribing the recording, or editing their own attempts at writing them down into a readable narrative. Because of the way I work my fees are nowhere near what you might pay elsewhere.
I am also involved in a project to do this for terminally-ill patients at a local hospice.

Copywriting
As a former advertising copywriter I can produce an extensive range of written material. I have had published articles in the national press, short stories in published anthologies, and numerous newsletters – private, corporate, internal and external.
I currently edit three newsletters for local charities and a residents’ association magazine going to 8,000 homes. I have also written text for several websites.
Rates can be per word/line/page, per hour, or a flat fee.
